Tomorrow will be played the quarterfinal match of the Masters 1000 on Madrid clay between Jannik Sinner and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Class of 2000, 24 years old to turn next Aug. 8, Auger-Aliassime finished 2022 at world No. 6, winning four of his five career tournaments, but none of them at the highest level. Then, the performance slump, which currently places him in the number 35 position in the ATP rankings.

They crossed paths for the very first time in Madrid, in the round of 16, and Auger-Aliassime won decisively 6-1 6-2. Much more balanced was the confrontation a few months later in the round of 16 on the concrete in Cincinnati, also won by the North American 2-6 7-6 6-1. But now Jannik looks ready to dispel the Auger-Aliassime tabù
