Trento gets off to a strong start with Monza
Trento-Monza 3-0
The Easter holiday saw Itas Trentino secure a victory over Mint Vero Volley Monza. In the daily ilT daily arena, the Italian champion team defeated the Brianzoli for the 18th time, this time 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-22).
The noisy and warm support of their fans and the excellent technical and physical condition fine-tuned in the ten days since the previous match ensured that Soli’s team showed up ready and charged for the appointment. The’epilogue of the first set was the discriminating factor also in the performance of the next ones; in fact, the Brianzoli had been good at building a promising lead (19-22) that was, however, wiped out by the tricolors right at the decisive moment thanks to the service (24-24 and then 27-25 with two aces by Lavia). It was precisely this fundamental that set the pace in the following sets as well (in the end, 9 direct points against just eleven errors) with as many as four players authors of at least two realizations (Kozamernik, Michieletto, Rychlicki and Lavia).
The three high-ball forwards then completed a sumptuous performance, also adding great effectiveness at the net (especially the Calabrese and the Luxembourger, scoring 15 and 17 times, respectively) and at the wall (4 blocks out of seventeen personal points for Michieletto, judged mvp at the end). Deprived of Maar (out all’ultimo due to a contusion to the face suffered the night before), Monza tried to reply until the end mainly thanks to Loeppky (20) and the substitute Mujianovic (9), but the effort produced was never enough to reopen the contest and take it at least to the fourth set.
