Achille Polonara from the pages of the Resto del Carlino took stock of the physical situation after having his testicular tumor removed in recent months: “Everything is going well. The last follow-up exams were in order, so I am very happy. I am also happy that the contribution I am making to Virtus is increasing. And if I was struggling at first, because I wasn't in top form, now I feel like I haven't had anything. This I think is important for me and for the team”.
"For me è it is an honor to play in what è one of the most important squares in Italy. Sometimes è itè easier to give 100 percent other times less, but what I can guarantee è that I will always go on the field with the intention of giving my all without sparing myself”.
Polonara also commented on his Virtus’ European season, which ended in ninth place in the Euroleague: “It è was not good because we had to try to hit the playoffs the way we started. After the Baskonia loss we were very disappointed, but now the only thing we can do è focus on the championship and our goal must be to win it".
Just the Italian scudetto is missing in Achille’s personal trophy cabinet: “Hopefully: after three finals lost in Italy I ran out of no two without three so I would like to win it and I will be much more fierce than before to reach the final and then to win it”.
