Gigi Buffon has clear ideas: he doesn’t want to be passive
After a life spent in the field, the former goalkeeper is writing a new future
Buffon has spent most of his life between the posts. Last year he decided to hang up his gloves and begin a new phase of his existence. Today he è head of the Azzurri delegation, an important role that is involving him greatly. However, there'è much more that Buffon would like to do in the future.
"The future? Shall we say as a sports director? Manager? I put the question mark, again. But still up to the task in the things I like. I certainly want to be operational, I do not like to be passive", his clear words to La Repubblica.
The former Parma, Juventus and PSG goalkeeper also spoke about his first year as a non-player, highlighting what it takes to get used to the new lifestyle without training and matches:"The first year without playing? I experienced it well. The gaps you encounter after you have had a deadline life for 30 years you have to try to fill them as profitably as possible. And I think I did that very well".
In short, Buffon has embraced the new phase of his life with his usual enormous enthusiasm. Class of 1978, he still has way and time to figure out what he really wants to do when he grows up. Surely it will be an active role, of that there is absolutely no doubt.
