F1, Briatore not mad at Colapinto for Imola crash

The’Alpine has, as its goal, to score points at the GP dell’Emilia Romagna. Gasly starts from the tenth box, Colapinto, on the other hand, from 15th. The latter was protagonist, despite himself, of an accident that compromised his qualification.

The young driver, who recently arrived at Alpine in place of Doohan, promptly apologized after the’mistake that cost him the accident. Certainly not the best way to play his chances and, above all, to repay the trust placed in him by Briatore, the’man who wanted him in Doohan&#8217s very place.

Briatore, however, had some honeyed words for Colapinto: “Franco is getting comfortable with the car and doing a great job with the team and engineers. With single-seaters and times so close, he was pushing the limit and unfortunately lost the car. I talked to Franco and he will quickly put the situation behind him and come back stronger”.

Statements that will have pleased Colapinto who, today, will have to do his best on the track to put the incident behind him and show that he is the right choice for Alpine. Not least because Briatore&#8217s patience, a rather well-known fact, is not infinite. Let&#8217s say Colapinto has already played a major bonus.
