Official: Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull at the end of the year

Adrian Newey will leave at the beginning of next year the Red Bull Formula 1 team, of which he è long been the 'chief technical officer' and father of the single-seaters among the most successful of the last decade, winning seven drivers world championships and six constructors titles with the Anglo-Austrian team alone.

Red Bull itself announced this in a note on its website and social media: "Adrian Newey will leaveà Red Bull in 2025 after 19 years. He will retire from Formula 1 design duties to focus on the final development and delivery of Red Bull’s first hypercar, the RB17.

"My dream was to become a Formula 1 engineer, and I had the chance to turn this dream into reality,‖ the 65-year-old Briton’s words, quoted in the statement.

Now è the right time to pass the baton to others and seek new challenges. I am confident that the team of engineers is well prepared for the work that will lead to the final evolution of the car,” he concludes, confirming that the care of the single-seater will be in the hands of other technicians.

"His vision and genius helped us win 13 titles in 20 seasons. He leaves as a true legend. È also my friend and someone to whom I will be eternally grateful", declares among other things the team principal, Christian Horner, but the case involving him for alleged inappropriate behavior toward an employee, and the tensions fretted over this within the team, may have played a role in Newey’s decision to end his relationship.
