Sardinia Open: Lorenzo Musetti rises again and beats Nuno Borges in comeback

Lorenzo Musetti's adventure at the Sardegna Open continues. In the quarterfinals of the Cagliari Challeger, in fact, the Italian tennis player defeated in three sets the Portuguese Nuno Borges with a score of 1-6 6-1 6-2, after two hours and twelve minutes of play, detaching the pass for the semifinals, where he will face the Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan (world no.89).
In the first set Musetti struggled to get into the match and Borges took advantage of his rival’s difficulties by quickly taking a 5-0 lead. The Italian had a small reaction of pride, but the Lusitanian closed the score on 6-1.
In the second set, the inertia of the match does not change, and the Carrara player immediately loses his serve. From that moment, however, the Italian player finds the strength to change the score. Musetti, in fact, manages to give more energy to his strokes and find more confidence in his tennis, posting a partial six games to zero taking the match to the third set.
In the third partial, Lorenzo’s positive series continued, for he was able to break Nuno Borges twice in a row in a short time. The Lusitanian managed to shorten the distance, but the Azure è skilled to give the decisive break and close the score on 6-2.
