The words of Beppe Poeta

Peppe Poeta, assistant to Ettore Messina at Olimpia Milano, spoke to Repubblica about his new life on the bench after retirement: "I am at school from a legend of European basketball and with the national team, I could not dream of better. I try to learn from all the most experienced coaches with whom I work every day, I try to give my contribution as a former player: I like it and enjoy it. È it’s nice to feel like the rookie on the staff after being the oldest guy on the team, I feel like I’m going back to 18 years old when, every practice, I was stealing something from the biggest guys»

Tip for Napier: "Shabazz’s leadership è what turned our season around a year ago. He has made great strides and, beyond the numbers, he is growing in leadership this year because heé has to lead a team with an extra big forward, Mirotic, and sacrifice a little bit’ his scoring nature".

"I was good at serving the rollers on pick and rolls, but I realize that these are risky actions, that at Olimpia you can’t miss and the ball weighs more than elsewhere. Certain plays, in Milan, only players with great personality feel like making them, like Chacho Rodriguez", concluded Poeta.
