Georgian Cimpeanu will fight at the Palace of Venaria

Night of Kick and Punch, Venaria

On Saturday, June 8, at the Reggia di Venaria, in Venaria Reale (Turin, Italy), former Wako-Pro superwelterweight world champion Georgian Cimpeanu will return to the ring in the highlight of the Night of Kick and Punch 16 – Black Tie Edition 3, the kickboxing event of the year. Georgian will sustainà a fight of 3 rounds of 3 minutes each with K-1 style rules: punches, kicks and knees. The name of the opponent will be announced in the coming days.

Also this year The Night of Kick and Punch – Black Tie Edition will be hosted inside the beautiful Citroniera of the Palace of Venaria. The Citroniera è was designed by the famous Italian architect Filippo Juvarra and built between 1722 and 1727 and è 148 meters long, 14 meters wide, 16 meters high and è lit on the south side by large windows. In short, a great location for a great sporting event. Presenting the event will be Valerio Lamanna, the voice of combat sports in Italy (Che i guerrieri entrino nell’arena è his signature phrase). The federation of reference è the Federkombat-Lega Pro Italia, the’only kickboxing federation recognized by Coni.

It’s been since June 24, 2023, that Georgian has not fought, when he defeated Danut Mihail in the last edition of the galà organized at the Reggia di Venaria by Angelo and Marianna Valente in collaboration with Sap Fighting Style of lawyer Michele Briamonte. On that occasion Georgian gave yet another proof of the extraordinary technical prowess that has enabled him to win back-to-back kickboxing world titles, first in light contact styles then in full contact styles. As an amateur, he participated in the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations world championships. In 2010, at the youth world championships held in Belgrade (Serbia), he won the title in light contact (punches and kicks above the belt) in the -57 kg category. In 2013 in Antalaya (Turkey) è he became world champion in light contact in the -69 kg category. In 2017 in Budapest (Hungary) he won the world title of the low kick style (punches above the belt and kicks also to the legs) in the -67 kg category. Turning professional, on November 9, 2019 in Meaux (France) he won the Wako-Pro world title of the K-1 style in the superwelterweight category (up to 69.100 kg) by beating Frenchman Marvin Ulrich.
