Flavio Cobolli advances in Geneva

Flavio Cobolli gets off on the right foot in the Geneva ATP 250. The Roman tennis player, in fact, defeated Russian Aslan Karatsev, number 82 in the ATP ranking, in two sets on his debut. 7-5 6-1 the score in favor of the blue accrued after an hour and 26 minutes of play.

Getting off to a better start è Karatsev who took away Cobolli’s serve already in the third game. The Roman però è reaction was vehement: Cobolli not only immediately recovered the break disadvantage, but strung together four consecutive games, taking a 5-2 lead. However, the Azure, called to serve for the set, on 5-4, wasted 5 set points and was recovered at 5-5. Cobolli però did not desist and with the third break of the partial è went on to take the set 7-5.

The second set è a monologue of Cobolli: Flavio, now master of the game, flew to 5-0. Karatsev managed to avoid the bagel, moving the score in the sixth game, but in the next game Cobolli had no problem filing the case at the first useful match point.

Cobolli thus reaches the second round of the Gonet Geneva Open where he will face the American Ben Shelton, number 4 seed on the scoreboard and number 15 in the world rankings.
