Another Serie A bigwig on Jonathan David, AC Milan and Napoli in the window
Roma on Jonathan David
Jonathan David is a candidate to be one of the main market men of the upcoming summer session. The Canadian center forward, whose contract with Lille will expire in June 2025, is reportedly already in the sights of several clubs, most notably AC Milan and Napoli. In addition to the Rossoneri and the Neapolitans, however, Roma, in the last few hours, has reportedly joined the race for the young striker.
According to a report by "Il Corriere dello Sport", the newly appointed Giallorossi Ds Florent Ghisolfi would have identified the 2000-year-old as the perfect candidate to replace the departing Azmoun and Lukaku, who will return to Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea, respectively, after the year on a dry loan.
The main obstacles to negotiations for the Giallorossi, however, would be Lille's economic demand (about 50 million euros) and the large competition that could trigger a real bidding war once the Copa America is over.
Roma, for its part, could edge ahead in the race thanks to its excellent relations with the French club. In addition, thanks to Atalanta's triumph in the Europa League, the Giallorossi can still hope to qualify for the next Champions League and have more appeal internationally.
On the outgoing front, however, è the future of Paulo Dybala, who could consider releasing himself through the €12 million rescissory clause for foreigners that expires at the end of July, is still to be defined. The permanence of Tammy Abraham also remains uncertain.
