Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step) won the 18th stage of Giro d'Italia 107, the 178-kilometer Fiera di Primiero-Padova. The Belgian rider gave himself an encore in the Corsa Rosa, mocking Italian Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek), who finished second, in a sprint. Third place for Australian Kaden Groves (Alpecin – Deceuninck).

Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) remains in the overall leader’s Pink Jersey, 7'42" ahead of Colombian Daniel Felipe Martinez (Bora – Hansgrohe) and 8'04" ahead of Briton Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers).
"We prepared the sprint from a distance, with Julian Alaphilippe – said Tim Merlier after the finish – It was a very important day and we faced it in the best way, always staying well covered in the first positions. In the last kilometers the speed was very high. I got the timing right to launch the sprint and in the end è everything went well".
