F1, Carlos Sainz: near turnaround in the future
Williams ready to strike Carlos Sainz
Carlos Sainz’s future in Formula 1 è still to be written but for the Spaniard, who at the moment does not have a steering wheel for 2025 since he will leave Ferrari at the end of the year to make room for Lewis Hamilton, the breakthrough seems to be very close: according to reports from 'Motorsport.com', Williams is ready to offer a two-year deal to the son of art, who would go to take Logan Sargeant’s place next to Alex Albon.
The Grove-based stable would put on the table an ambitious project characterized by a long-term plan, a strengthened technical and engineering staff and a Mercedes-powered car whose development would already be at an advanced stage. Compared to Audi, another competitor for the Spaniard, Williams is offering a steering wheel right away (while the German manufacturer’s project will takeà off in 2026), no small detail for a driver who next September 1° will be 30 years old.
However, during the press conference presenting the Monaco Grand Prix, Sainz dribbled the issue: "The rumors are many – said the driver who arrived at Ferrari in 2021 – in the paddock there is a lot of talk but for now rest assured that I will not say anything, also becauseé I have to think about going strong this season with Ferrari".
"However, I am evaluating every possible situation to make the right decision for 2025, when the cards are all on the table I am sure it will all materialize very quickly. I just have to find everything I would like for my next contract" Sainz later added.
