Vincenzo Italiano, last dance in purple: there’s Bologna
Italian reached three finals in three seasons in Florence
Today marks the end of Fiorentina’s long season, as it awaits the league match (recovery) with Atalanta. The Dea, after celebrating their Europa League victory, is aiming for the final third place in the standings, the Viola is looking forward to closing a year with a bitter ending, namely the defeat in the Conference League final against Olympiacos.
It will be, barring unforeseen events, Italian's last lily bench. After three seasons in Florence, with three finals reached (unfortunately, all lost), the coach considers his adventure over and is already thinking about the future. Sartori, dt of Bologna, is thinking of entrusting him with the bench of the Felsinei, ready to play in the Champions League.
Italiano's international experience will come in handy for a group entering Europe's top competition, in fact, for the first time. There is talk of a two-year contract, with an option for a third year, at about two million euros (plus bonuses). The feeling è that the white smoke is indeed very close.
There'è only one obstacle, namely Tudor. The Croatian coach is discussing with Lotito about his future. At the moment, it is not è clear whether an agreement will be reached to continue together. Bologna could also give it some thought, although Italiano seems the most logical and natural choice. As always, we have to wait for the officialities to be certain.
