Roland Garros: Andrea Vavassori/Simone Bolelli-Max Purcell/Jordan Thompson 6-3 6-4
After Jasmine Paolini in the women’s singles draw, Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli also pull off the pass for the quarterfinals of Roland Garros in the men’s doubles. The Italian duo, in fact, è won in two sets over the Australian pair formed by Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson with a score of 6-3 6-4.
In the first set, the Italian pair immediately placed the break in the second game. In the next game, the Italian duo è deftly nullified as many as three counter-break balls. From that moment, Vavassori and Bolelli no longer took big risks and managed the lead until the final 6-3.
In the second partial it is again the two blues who are more cynical. After saving themselves in the second game, the Emilian and the Piedmontese wrested service from their rivals in the third. Thompson and Purcell, however, manage to bring themselves back in touch in the sixth, but lose serve again at 5-4, which paves the way for the 6-4 final.
In the quarterfinals, Vavassori and Bolelli will face the pair formed by the U.S. Ram and Britain’s Salisbury.
