Valentino Rossi has clear ideas about Le Mans
Valentino Rossi sounds the charge
Less than two weeks to go before the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the prestigious endurance race that this year will also see Valentino Rossi, a nine-time MotoGP world champion who has now switched permanently to four wheels, at the starting line. The 'Doctor', back from a great weekend in mid-May in Misano, does not hide his ambitions.
"The big moment è has arrived, it will be my first time at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the most famous race in the world,” Rossi told the official channels of Team WRT, whose colors he wears driving the BMW M4 GT3 together with Ahmad Al Harthy and Maxime Martin. “I am very happy and proud to be associated with BMW and Team WRT for this great race".
"I know the track from last year, having participated in the Road to Le Mans race, and I really like the Circuit de La Sarthe,” added the rider from Tavullia. “We will be there for a long week and we are ready. We made good performances in the first races of the season, but now we have to understand our level, speedà and competitivenessà in Le Mans".
"We hope to be strong and I am looking forward to this experience" then concluded Rossi, who together with Maxime Martin won race-1 in Misano, on the circuit dedicated to Marco Simoncelli, while finishing third in race-2, which was won by another crew from the same team, the one composed of Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor.
