Jannik Sinner, deadly start with Carlos Alcaraz
Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz 6-2
Jannik Sinner got off to a deadly start in his Roland Garros semifinal against Carlos Alcaraz, world and seeded number three. The South Tyrolean, in fact, won the first set 6 games to 2.
Sinner started off strong right away and broke Alcaraz on serve in the opening game. The Blue has no problem confirming the break lead and in the third game he repeated it. Jannik flies in an instant to 4-0. Here comes a timid reaction from Alcaraz who moves the score and recovers a break disadvantage, but a new stretch by Sinner is worth the first set, closed 6-2.
What is now being staged is the 123rd edition of the French Open, one of the four tournaments that are part of the Grand Slam, the second in order of time after the Australian Open, which in 2024 was won by Jannik Sinner among the men and by Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka among the women.
