Lewis Hamilton dominates Montreal’s final free practice
Mercedes Briton Lewis Hamilton è was the fastest in the third and final free practice session of the Canadian Grand Prix at the Montreal circuit ahead of qualifying, which will begin at 10 p.m. Italian time.
The seven-time world champion lapped in 1’12”549 ahead of Red Bull’s reigning world champion Max Verstappen by 374 thousandths and Britain’s George Russell in the other Mercedes by 408.
Surprising fourth was home favorite Lance Stroll in the Aston Martin. Fifth and seventh were the McLarens of Australian Oscar Piastri and Briton Lando Norris, in between them the Racing Bulls of Australian Daniel Ricciardo.
Tenth and twelfth were Monaco’s Charles Leclerc and Spain’s Carlos Sainz with the two Ferraris, also preceded by Spain’s Fernando Alonso, eighth with the second Aston Martin, and Mexico’s Sergio Perez, ninth with the second Red Bull.
