From June 15 to July 13, 2025, in the United States, è the Club World Cup is scheduled. An ambitious new Fifa project that, at the moment, is generating more controversy than consensus. The latest blow inflicted on the Club World Cup comes directly from the man who won the Champions League, namely Real Madrid coach Ancelotti.

"Fifa forgets, players and clubs will not participate in that tournament. One Real Madrid match alone is worth 20 million and FIFA wants to give us that amount for the whole cup. Negative. Like us other clubs will refuse the'invitation", the clear words of Ancelotti himself through the columns of Il Giornale.

Very strong statements that could have important consequences on the Club World Cup. The problem? The cash compensations guaranteed to the clubs called to participate in the event. According to several media, what Fifa had guaranteed to the participating clubs (no less than 50 million euros for each club) would not be the real amount that will arrive.

In short, the Club World Cup is in danger of not taking off, from every point of view. Ancelotti’s statements will force Fifa to make a prompt response so as not to risk losing important pieces to what, in the forecasts, was supposed to be a rich and successful project.
