Lazio, Luis Alberto increasingly distant: departure for Qatar one step away
The biancoceleste flag seems closer and closer to a farewell.
Lazio soccer market: Luis Alberto towards Saudi Arabia, despite assurances in the opposite direction from Claudio Lotito. The talented Spaniard, in biancoceleste since 2016, had made it clear at length during the season just ended that he intended to make a change. Well: his move to Qatar, to Al-Duhail, appears to be getting closer and closer.
According to the Capitoline media, in fact, Luis Alberto would even be ready to leave for Doha and to undergo medical examinations and then sign the contract that will bind him to Al-Duhail. Lazio would get 12 million euros for the transfer of the player, who would instead earn 8 million euros per season.
"Does he want to leave? His problem. But then who told you that? I haven't asked anyone for anything, not è for sale" had been Lotito's words on the sidelines of a recent League Assembly. The Lazio president had once again armored Luis Alberto, adding further chaos to the situation.
The Luis Alberto affaire dates back to April, when the Spaniard had declared to 'DAZN' words impossible to misunderstand after the victory over Salernitana: "About the project I cannot say. I know that this è my last season here. I have asked for the termination of my contract and I don’t want to take even a single euro from Lazio anymore. I leave these four years of my contract to others, right to step aside and let the club have these kinds of engagements for other players".
