Euro 2024, Italy: Luciano Spalletti is not satisfied
Luciano Spalletti points out some critical issues
.
At the end of Italy's debut match at Euro 2024, won in a comeback 2-1 against Albania, Luciano Spalletti didn't hide himself at the microphones of 'Rai Sport': although aware of the importance of the three points obtained in a difficult round that also includes Spain and Croatia, the Italian technical commissioner is not è happy with some things seen on Saturday night.
"We saw some good things, but these must lead somewhere becauseé if they are an end in themselves they are of no use – said the coach. The possibility to go and hurt more times is there, but we have not taken that direction. We changed our minds too often and too quickly".
Beyond the mistake in the 1st, it was the second half that did not satisfy Spalletti: " Since they tried to do something more, it was our job to take advantage of some space, instead we were sucked in by the defense. Sometimes we are a bit comfortable, we have to be more bad and look for the right movements that can lead to a goal".
The coach from Certaldo then dismissed the question about Barella's importance in the team's economy: "Can't we do without Barella? The national team can è do without anyone: è a wrong thing to say that a team depends on one player, every time I am presented with the question I will always say that è wrong to think so ".
