Just over an hour to deserve the final.

Matteo Berrettini beats Lorenzo Musetti and in this way will play the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Stuttgart. Very high level performance for the Roman, able to prevail in the all-Italian derby in just two sets and in just over an hour of play: 6-4, 6-0 the score. Set for Sunday is the challenge with Jack Draper, the last obstacle dividing him from winning the trophy.

The first set began with great balance, and maintained it for its entire duration (approaching three quarters of an hour total). The second and third games turn out to be decisive: Berrettini first nullifies a break ball to Musetti, then concretizes his by taking a 2-1 lead. The Tuscan initially failed to come close to equalizing, and instead had to concentrate on limiting the damage. Soì in the ninth game è he did well to cancel a further break ball that would have been decisive for the set. In the next game è then he was to see three break points cancelled, before yielding to his opponent.

For Berrettini, on the other hand, the second set goes on velvet. Musetti never managed to concretize his service turns, losing even quite sharply the first and third games. Much more intense the fifth, which, however, rewards the Roman after 12 points and two break points canceled. Set and match then came in the following game, in which the Tuscan could not bring home a single point.

For Berrettini then comes the final, in which he will face Jack Draper. A golden opportunity to put the bitterness of recent years behind him and lift his ATP ranking. The Roman currently occupies position 95, his next opponent 40. Not bad, taking into account the fact that Musetti è number 30 in the world, and in Stuttgart his defeat è was quite clear.
