Pramac and the Yamaha suggestion: Gigi Dall’Igna goes down flat
So much news on the horizon, complete with a full-scale appeal.
MotoGP grappling with a particularly dense market, one that affects more than just riders. Marc Marquez’s future has triggered a full-blown domino effect, affecting Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martin in particular. The latter's team could also però change insignia, and in that sense Gigi Dall'Igna, general manager of Ducati Corse, has spoken out.
On the sidelines of the Superbike weekend in Misano, Dall'Igna reflected to the microphones of 'Sky' on the possibility of Pramac switching from Ducati to Yamaha: "There are no updates, although by now clearly the time è almost over and therefore sooner or later we will have to decide. È clearly the solution is not è in our hands, so in this case we just have to wait. It definitely weighs history, but there are so many things at stake that we shared with Pramac. There'è also a deep friendship relationship, so I really hope that in the end Campinoti decides to stay with us again in Ducati".
Dall'Igna then spoke about the riders who will switch from Ducati to the competition in 2025, starting of course with Martin and Bastianini: "Next year will not be easy, and this was already known. The moves of the others, particularly Aprilia and KTM, were already known; or at least they were a given. Surely it will beà tough, becauseé our opponents have strengthened. We were però perfectly aware of that, so ità will be a matter of working in the right way to accept their challenge".
There's no fear, moreover, that Ducati's secrets will come out of Borgo Panigale. "Those who bring the teams the information are the technicians, I have always said that. The riders can certainly give comments and make comparisons compared to the bikes they rode before. All in all, però hardly a rider brings with himé technical secrets to hand over to the competition", guaranteed Dall'Igna.
