England just needs a Bellingham ringer: Serbia knocked out
All England needs is a ringing Bellingham: Serbia knocked out
England gets off on the right foot on its European Championship adventure in Germany and beats Serbia on its debut. The Three Lions national team needed only a strike from Jude Bellingham to chastise Dusan Vlahovic and his teammates, who were not very incisive in Sunday night’s match.
The English approached the match well and immediately put their opponents on the ropes thanks to Saka’s flashes and Bellingham’s quality. Just from the combination of the two phenomena è came the goal: cross of the speedy Arsenal outside forward and winning header of the Real Madrid jewel. Just before halftime Filip Kostic è was substituted: the Juventus player was injured and left the field in tears.
At the start of the second half Serbia raised its center of gravity and è approached Pickford’s neighborhood without, however, ever being able to be really dangerous. England struggled to regain the reins of the game, then the pace è dropped and the two formations did not produce any great chances. On 76' Harry Kane had a chance to double with a header but Rajkovic è was great and deflected it over the crossbar. È it was the last noteworthy action of the match.
Overall, it wasn't a spectacular match and the highlights were produced by the darts of a few champions: Tadic on one side, Saka and Bellingham on the other. More was expected from England, which dominated in the first 20 minutes but then suffered from the Serbian pressure, although without conceding big chances to Stojkovic’s boys.
