I tried to find my game again and I’m really proud of the way I put the match back together against one of the first players I admired when I was just a child".

In the next round Elisabetta will face the winner of the match between Russian Diana Shnaider, world number 49, and Czech Marie Bouzkova, number 37 in the WTA rankings and eight in the seeding: "I have to stay focused on the things that I have to put into practice without thinking about who is on the other side of the net. "All in all, today I am satisfied: okay, the’beginning was not the best but then I recovered well. Definitely the’having eliminated in the debut the first seed of the tournament gave me a lot of confidence. It’ s only my third career tournament on this surface but playing on grass I’m enjoying it" concluded Cocciaretto.
