Paola Egonu satisfied with Italy's path in Nations League
The pass for the Games conquered (and it was the first goal) and now it is back on the court in the hunt for the Nations League. The Azzurri volleyball team will face the USA tomorrow at PalaHuamark in Bangkok in the first knockout match of the season. Coming off four consecutive victories in Fukuoka, the penultimate of which was against the United States, Velasco's Italy will try to secure access to the semifinals.
"Facing a team that has just been beaten forces us to refocus on our game – the words of Paola Egonu – our team and predict what they will do in the match. In short, we will have to find ways to adapt to their countermoves”.
“Every year the teams are roughly the same: we know the ones that can give us a hard time; and others that should not be underestimated. But in general I am very happy with our of path because I am of the idea that it is essential to keep the focus on our way of being on the field doing everything to enter more and more symbiosis to make the best”.
“I think we still have to get completely used to playing together. Maybe we are still tied to what each of us does in our own team compared to the new systems introduced by Velasco. We need time, we need practice and games to find continuityà and consistency in our performance”.
”From a personal point of view, no athlete canò ever call himself 100% of his potential. I am happy with the path and the work we are doing both as a team and as individuals, and I hope to be ready for the important moments".
