Tommaso Menoncello signed

Another major renewal at Benetton Rugby. The green-and-white franchise has announced the contract extension until June 2026 of Tommaso Menoncello, removing the termination clause that would have allowed the player to be released at the end of the 2024/25 football season.

Tommaso Menoncello è was born in Treviso on August 20, 2002 and is a youth product of Benetton Rugby. Tommaso began playing rugby when he was about 10 years old and did so wearing the Paese Rugby jersey. He then moved on to the Ivan Francescato National Academy, where he honed his polished technical and physical qualities. From his very first steps in rugby, one can sense how Tommaso possesses a brilliant and unique talent. In the 2020/2021 season Menoncello, just 18 years old, made his debut in the green-and-white jersey, scoring a try in the first match played against the Dragons at Monigo in Guinness PRO14. Menoncello is part of the roster that wins the Rainbow Cup in 2021. Lots of appearances and several goals scored by the three-quarter who can joust as a first center, second center and also as a winger. Concreteness, powerful physicality and overflowing speed are the strengths of Menoncello, who has become a pillar of Benetton Rugby over the seasons. To date he è reached 46 appearances with the Treviso jersey, topped by 18 heavy goals.

To the appearances in green-and-white, in his young career he has already added those in the Azzurri with the Italian U20 National Team and with the Major National Team, sealing records that are difficult to repeat: Menoncello scored a try in the match played against France in the Six Nations 2022. The scoring è earned him the record as the youngest player ever to score a try in the Six Nations at just 19 years and 170 days old. But the most fascinating recognition on a personal level è was earned in April 2024. Menoncello è was awarded the MVP of the 2024 Six Nations, an extraordinary achievement for a boy not even 22 years old.

"It makes me very happy to have extended my contract with Benetton Rugby. I feel the trust from the club and I certainly believe in the club’s project that year after year is paying off by reaching more and more important goals. I feel that in Treviso I can still grow a lot and contribute to future successes" said Tommaso Menoncello after the contract renewal.
