Rains of criticism for Italy after its defeat at Euro 2024 to Spain, which dominated the match despite imposing only 1-0. The deficit could have been much wider had it not been for Donnarumma’s saves and among those who harshly criticized the Azzurri there'è also Enrico Mentana.

The popular journalist, director of Tg La7, è vented himself on Instagram with a really eloquent post: "I remember all the matches of Italy since England 1966 (the famous Korea). I am sure I have never seen a national team so ugly, modest, afraid".

Italy will be back on the field Monday night with Croatia to play for qualification to the knockout stage: with a draw they would be sure of passage to the round while with a defeat we would have to look at the results of all other matches to see if they will be one of the top four thirds.
