Slovakia-Ukraine, probable lineups

It will be the match between Slovakia and Ukraine, valid for the second day of Group E of Euro 2024, the first of the three matches scheduled for Friday (followed at 6 p.m. by Poland-Austria and at 9 p.m. by Netherlands-France). A match that is already decisive for both: Slovakia would file the qualification discourse with a Success, while Ukraine is looking for the three points after the thud in the opener against Romania.

Coached by Francesco Calzona, one of the five Italian coaches involved in Euro 2024 (along with Luciano Spalletti, Vincenzo Montella, Marco Rossi and Domenico Tedesco, "Italian from Germany"), the Slovaks should field the 4-3-3 already seen in the match won against Belgium: Bozenik and Haraslin are confirmed in attack, while Suslov should win the ballot with Schranz, match winner against the Belgians but also warned.

On the other side, Ukrainian coach Rebrov has to shuffle the cards after last Monday’s 0-3 loss: instead of 4-2-3-1 the former striker should switch to 4-3-3, with Dovbyk still the central pivot of the attack, supported by Tsygankov and Mudryk. In goal, the most striking change: the disappointing Lunin could sit on the bench, making way for Trubin.

Probable lineups:

SLOVAKIA (4-3-3): Dubravka; Pekarik, Vavro, Skriniar, Hancko; Kucka, Lobotka, Duda; Suslov, Bozenik, Haraslin. C.t. Calzona.

UKRAINE (4-3-3): Trubin; Konoplia, Zabarnyi, Matviyenko, Zinchenko; Shaparenko, Brazhko, Sudakov; Tsygankov, Dovbyk, Mudryk. C.t. Rebrov.
