Euro 2024, Domenico Tedesco asks for more from Belgium
Winning is not enough for the ct.
Belgium back in the running for the Euro 2024 round of 16 after a crucial win against Romania. Now Domenico Tedesco’s men are tied on points with Saturday night’s opponents, but also with Slovakia (who beat them on their debut in the competition) and Ukraine. And the coach, while praising his men, is calling on them to achieve the same results with less effort.
"I am very relieved to have won against Romania,” Tedesco explained at the end of the match, as can be read on Uefa’s official website. “Winning these three points was crucial, but it would be ideal if we could score first. The fact that we have to build soì many chances before scoring è a pity. And of course we wasted some" this evening as well.
However, Tedesco wanted to praise his Belgium team, particularly some individuals: "Tielemans played great, but they were all good. Moreover, we were on the pitch with the same structure we saw against Slovakia, but this time we took three points and we are very happy that we succeeded".
" We pressed high, although Romania è a team that likes to control the game. That’s why it wasn’t è easy to face them, but we were good at attacking them and playing with great mentalityà. I think we could have scored even 3, 4 or 5 goals, and it è wonderful to be able to create so many chances. We need patience, and we will also become moreù effective"” concluded Tedesco.
