Nicolò Melli returns to Fenerbahce

Closed (not without a polemical tail) the experience at Olimpia Milano, Nicolò Melli already has a new home: the basketball player class 1991 è in fact ready to sign a two-year contract with Fenerbahce, a club for which he had already played from 2017 to 2019, before the experience in the NBA and the return to Italy. Reporting it è 'Eurohoops' which dà the deal in the home stretch.

With the Istanbul-based yellowoblù club, Melli won the President’s Cup (the counterpart of our Supercup) in 2017, the Turkish championship in 2018 and the National Cup in 2019. In the Euroleague he reached the final in 2018 (knockout against Real Madrid), while in the following season he finished just off the podium (defeats in the semifinals against Efes and in the final again against Real).

The separation from Olimpia Milano surprised many, first and foremost Melli himself, who had declared in the aftermath of the farewell: "Before the hubbub one had to imagine the separation from Milan: I was not thinking of leaving. I take note of a legitimate choice of society; however, I was pleased with the testimonies of affection I received".

"Would I have stayed? Of course – had added the Reggio Emilia-born basketball player – But things are done in two. It wasnè t like that. I am sorry that it is said and written that I left Milan. (…) I received the phone call, which lasted 45 seconds, in which Ettore Messina informed me that the company’had decided to take another direction".
