Reversal in MotoGP: Pramac team says goodbye to Ducati, what happens to VR46
Ribaltone in MotoGP: Pramac team says goodbye to Ducati, what happens to VR46
Team Pramac after 20 years says goodbye to Ducati: according to Sky reports, Paolo Campinoti’s team has accepted Yamaha’s offer and will become the satellite team of the Iwata-based manufacturer from 2025, thus breaking off its 20-year partnership with the Borgo Panigale-based company. The M1s will thus become four on the grid next season, while the Desmosedici will return to six.
The official announcement will come this weekend in Assen, at the Ducati Grand Prix. Pramac has thus decided to give up its two-year contract as first partner of the Bologna-based manufacturer, which should now go to the VR46 team.
A major factor in the decision was the inability to take Marc Marquez, who moved to the official Ducati team, and the simultaneous farewell of Jorge Martin, who will move to Aprilia. Yamaha will give Pramac all technical support at reduced cost, taking over the contracts of the riders who will take the place of departing Jorge Martin and Franco Morbidelli.
Valentino Rossi’s team should therefore be the favorite to take over for the supply of Ducati’s GP25s.
