Alexander Zverev warns Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz

Alexander Zverev è returned to prominence on the circuit after his victory at the Rome Internationals and the final at Roland Garros, which he lost to Carlos Alcaraz: the German tennis player finally feels ready and mature to win Wimbledon and challenge Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic on equal terms. According to Zverev, this could be the year: "I think it is the most open Wimbledon tournament in the last 20 years in terms of favorites and potential winners. There are many players who have a good chance of winning the tournament".

"I don’t think something like this has happened for at least 20 years, before Roger started playing. After Roger came Rafa, Novak and Andy. There've always been a very limited number of guys who can compete and win tournaments. This year I feel different, I can really say that I am one of those guys who will do everything possible".

"È a tournament where I need a little bit more luck, maybe more than in other Grand Slams. Eliminate the five sets? Tennis is fine, è one of the oldest sports there is. We don’t need new rules all the time, we don’t need to invent things every few years.  It’s a sport that everyone likes. The difficulty of winning a Grand Slam lies in the five-set matches, in the physical part, in what you work on in the pre-season. Winning a Masters 1000 è very important or the ATP Finals, but the most difficult task in our sport è winning a Grand Slam because of the five-set matches. In my opinion, there'è no way to eliminate them".
