The realization that we cannot find positive sides to the knockout è evident.

Bryan Cristante è among the men wrecked with Italy in Berlin, starting in the rout against Switzerland that è cost the Azzurri elimination from the round of 16 at Euro 2024. The midfielder, chosen by Luciano Spalletti in place of Jorginho, does not mince words in commenting on the national team’s performance and merely points out that the knockout was fully deserved.

"We really have little to save, Switzerland put us under both at a physical level and in terms of organization on the field – Cristante admitted to 'Sky Sport' -. We go home deservedly, and it is not yet time to draw conclusions about what è happened. The most important thing è is to empty our heads and start again with other strengths".

Cristante wanted to deny that Italy took the field confused, intimidated and above all listless. "The desire was different – he assured -. Then forò when things don&#39t come to you, the energy also goes away. The difference in organization and play was obvious, there'è little to say. And I think it is still early to look for a reason or explanations".

That is also why Cristante hopes for a revival of Italy in the run-up to the 2026 World Cup. "We have to clean ourselves up mentally and start again with a different charge and with different ideas. Next year we will have to show that we have a different flair", concluded the Azzurri midfielder.
