Mourning in Italian athletics for the death of Marinella Bortoluzzi, a high jumper, an Italian national team member at the 1960 Rome Olympics and one of the main performers of the specialty in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Born in 1939 in Rome, in her career she had collected 13 appearances in the absolute national team in addition to winning three tricolour titles in 1959, 1961 and 1963. È was also Italian record holder improving several times the record from 1.64 in 1959 to the 1.66 measurement obtained in 1961.
