Aryna Sabalenka irresistible: she scrambles Jessica Pegula and triumphs in Cincinnati
Aryna Sabalenka won the Cincinnati WTA 1000, dominating the final against Jessica Pegula and crowning her splendid tournament in the United States in the best possible way. The Belarusian tennis player confirmed her great strength by imposing herself in two sets against the American in just an hour and a quarter of play, with the scores of 6-3, 7-5.
Fully recovered after the forfeit that forced her to skip Wimbledon, Sabalenka won her second tournament of the season after the Australian Open last January.
In the first partial è a break in the fourth game was enough to steer the challenge, while the second set è was more tightly fought, but the Belarusian raised the level again and Pegula è failed to keep up at the decisive moment.
Aryna Sabalenka won the Cincinnati tournament without losing a single set: now she is aiming straight for the US Open, where she will again challenge number one Iga Swiatek.
