.

Max Verstappen è had to settle for second place in his home Grand Prix, in Zandvoort, Holland, ahead of an unreachable Lando Norris. “I did not expect to win,” he admitted to Sky Sports microphones. “On Friday and after qualifying I knew it would be a very difficult task. I tried everything and the start è was good, I took the lead, but already in quick time you could see that it was not possible to stay in the lead, it was very difficult".

“I tried to do my race, I was in no man’s land becauseé in some places I had some advantage but I was quite behind and the gap was wide – added the world leader. Towards the end I was catching up, but nothing exciting".

"The gap from Lando è big and è something I don’t like to see, forò è the realityè at the moment. It’s going to be really hard to stay in the lead in both classifications. We have to start winning races again to control the rankings, we can’t rely on anything else. There are so many things to analyze and look at, that è what we have to do" concluded the Dutch driver.

Verstappen still commands the overall standings with a 70-point lead over Norris, while in terms of the constructors’ standings Red Bull leads with 434 points, 30 more than McLaren, which è at 404.
