By winning the award of best player of the month of August given by Lega Serie A, Marcus Thuram set a particular record: è in fact, he is the first Frenchman in five years to win the award and the'only other transalpine to win it, along with Franck Ribery who was elected "Player of the month" in September 2019, the very first occasion on which the award è was given.
