Brazil beat Belgium already after the two singles matches were played in the penultimate match of the Davis Cup Group A being played at the Davis Cup Group A.

In the second, Thiago Monteiro came back and bent Zizou Bergs 4-6 7-6 7-5 giving the decisive 2-0 lead to Brazil and qualification to the Azzurri.
