Totò Schillaci, the condolences of San  Marino

The Federazione Sammarinese Giuoco Calcio è was very touched by the untimely death of Totò Schillaci, unforgettable champion and undisputed protagonist with the Azzurri jersey at the 1990 World Cup – the last one hosted in Italy, which saw him top scorer of the event. His exploits and exultations fueled the dreams and passion of many fans, filling the "Magic Nights" with expectation and trepidation. 

"We will preserve the intangible memory of a person of great human and sporting values, whom we had the good fortune to meet on the occasion of his visit to San Marino and at the Federcalcio headquarters in June 2020" reads the note issued by Mount Titano.

Schillaci è passed away at the age of 59 from colon cancer. In his career he wore the jerseys of Messina, Juve, Inter and Jubilo Iwata (Japan), scoring more than 200 goals, but his true peak came with Italy, at the World Cup in '90 of which he was top scorer with 6 goals, dragging the national team up to third place.
