Trento starts off on the right foot in Reggio Emilia

A 76-92 victory in the first day of LBA on the court of PalaBigi. For the’Aquila a’great team performance with Lamb and Ford in great form with 21 and 17 points. Dolomiti Energia Trentino will return to “The T Daily Arena” in BKT EuroCup against Trefl Sopot on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. and in LBA in the’eternal challenge against Umana Reyer Venezia on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Aquila Store (Corso del Lavoro e della Scienza 20) and online at the Vivaticket circuit.

THE STORY – Dolomiti Energia Trentino after the good performance at Gran Canaria decided to confirm the quintet starting with: Ellis, Cale, Niang, Lamb and Mawugbe.

Niang scores the first basket of the LBA season with jumper from medium distance, Mawugbe gets two fouls from Faye who converts with three free throws, stoppages Barford in the’other half of the court and with two more points forces coach Priftis to call time-out. Mawugbe, Cale, Ford and Lamb bring the bianconeri to +15 but the Reggio response comes with two triples by Cheatham and a basket by Jamar Smith. Uglietti and Barford in the lunette bring UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia even closer but Bayehe’s free throws close the first quarter at 16-24.

Gombauld dunks the first two points of the second quarter, Barford scores from mid-range and Smith’s triple forces Galbiati to time-out. Niang unlocks the HCL in the second quarter with a rebound tap-in and then gives a chocolate for Mawugbe’s bimane. Lamb from the corner makes a big triple at the buzzer, and with Ellis’ counterattack and Anthony’s second triple of the night, the HCLers get back into double digits of the lead. Coming out of the suspension minute Barford scores with a dribble stop and shoot.  Niang continues to find his way to the basket and aided by Ford and Žukauskas’ first points help the Eagle keep the distance. Gombuauld  dunked the 39-46 at the end of the first half.

Lamb opens the restart with a triple from the’corner but finds an instant response from Barford. Ellis scores 4 consecutive points, Niang continues to find his way to the basket and with Lamb’s fadeaway coach Priftis calls time-out. Faye and Winston try to bring UNAHOTELS back in but Žukauskas immediately answers with a stepback triple. Ford gets on the board with a triple and an assist to Pecchia but Faye, Uglietti and Smith respond and at 30’ Dolomiti Energia Trentino è ahead 61-71.

Reggio finds the first basket of the’last period with Winston’s triple. Bayehe makes 4 in a row, but Smith è a machine and with Faye’s semi Reggio gets back to -7. Ford scores from three and Mawugbe gives the double-digit lead again. Trento controls by defending strongly and flies to +18, the final è of 76-92.
