Now the challenge with Ukraine's Yuliia Starodubtseva

Anna Kalinskaya’s journey at the China Open continues. The Russian, the No. 10 seed in the women’s draw, has, in fact, qualified for the tournament’s round of 16, complicit in the withdrawal of Peyton Stearns in the third set of their endless match.

Born in 1998, Anna Kalinskaya has three WTA circuit successes to her credit, all in doubles (Prague 2019 with Viktoria Kuzmova, Portorož 2021 with Tereza Mihailova, St. Petersburg 2022 with Caty McNally) while in singles (where she won 7 ITF titles) she won the WTA 125 in Midland in 2023 and lost two finals this year, in the WTA 1000 in Dubai against Jasmine Paolini and in the WTA 500 in Berlin against Jessica Pegula.
