Hellas Verona-Monza 0-3

Sensational trio in Verona for Nesta’s Monza, which leaves the last place in the standings. They celebrate the 300 Brianza fans in front of 25 thousand spectators. Standings: Verona 9, Monza 7.  Next round (day 9° first leg): Atalanta-Verona (Saturday, Oct. 26, 8:45 p.m.), Monza-Venice (Sunday, Oct. 27, 3 p.m.).

First half. Monza tries to surprise Hellas, Montipò says no to Mota, corner, nothing done. The Lombardi believe in it: the former Caprari invents from the left, great conclusion signed Mota (8’), off-center on the right, ball in the far corner, nothing to do for the Scaligeri extreme: Verona-Monza 0-1 to the joy of the 300 fans of Brianza. Bentegodi suddenly frozen, the Gialloblù fans would like to immediately shake off the cold shower. But unlike the immediate draw observed against Venezia, Verona slams against the wall raised by Nesta’s team. The Lombardi pounced on the counterattack with an inspired Caprari. Verona begins to gain meters, favored by a refusing Monza. But as the minutes pass, the Lombardi are forced back by the gialloblù. They are good at winning corners in series, but only one seems to lean in their favor: Ghilardi’s breakaway looks successful, miraculous è the extreme Turati to prevent the 1 to 1. In 5 minutes Verona, led by Duda, collects 3 corners and a couple of crosses. Turati remains inoperative. The Veronese try from outside, punctually rebounded.  Gialloblù flashes at the end of the half: Tchatchoua’s cross from the right side goes over Turati, he picks up on the left side Tengstedt, munches two, finds the back, looking for the framing goal but the shot goes out at the second post.

Second half. Hellas with the accelerator in the beginning, Turati says no to Lazovic. Monza, mindful of the first half, does not stand by and with the usual Caprari and the other former Djuric creates shivers down the back of the Veronese. Race, now, balanced, which could break a player from the bench. The plays jump, Monza one step away from doubling, good for Hellas that the cannonade of Marì hits a resounding post. Minutes pass, we see again the photocopy of the first: Monza all to cover their own 11 meters. The newly-entered Serdar makes the fans of the Bentegodi shout to the net in a general assault: Turati and his teammates are unbeatable in what is now an attack on the stagecoach. And when the draw seems a done deal, the fateful law of soccer intervenes: a millimetric throw vertically for Mota (29') who does not let himself be begged, beating Montipo' for the second time: Verona-Monza 0-2. That becomes Monza tic-tac-toe at 33' with Bianco who, at speed, always in the central corridor, probably unbalances Faraoni and beats the Scaliger extreme.
