Sofia Goggia works to return as soon as possible
Sofia Goggia’s path to getting back to racing continues with increasing intensity as she aims to return to show her qualities in the World Cup in mid-December, when the "white circus" will be in Beaver Creek, in the United States, for a downhill and a super-giant slalom test.
As confirmed by the Italian Winter Sports Federation, the Bergamasque champion will face the next stage on her way back to South Tyrol, in Val Senales, where she already skied last week: the appointment for the next training è for a four-day event that will kick off on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and conclude on Friday, Oct. 25.
The Italian skier herself had confirmed her goals at the recent Fisi media day: "The program è to go to America on the 11th of November – she had said -, do a month there and will need a detailed program with a perfect progression. And then if all goes well I would like to enter the race in mid-January, with the first sprint races in Beaver Creek, which l'altro this year are a bit delayed compared to last year".
In the meantime, the 2024/2025 Alpine Ski World Cup season is about to begin: for both men and women, the first leg is scheduled to take place in the Austrian resort of Solden, where the women’s giant slalom will be held on October 26 and the men’s giant slalom twenty-four hours later.
