Roberto Mancini after Saudi Arabia, son: “Ready for a new project”
The last, unfortunate parenthesis may soon be forgotten.
Roberto Mancini is no longer the technical commissioner of Saudi Arabia, but he is ready to start again as soon as possible on a new bench. Whether it be that of another national selection or perhaps that of a club, the first for him since as far back as 2018 (when he left Zenit St. Petersburg and the next day became Italy’s coach). Vouching for his future is his son, Andrea Mancini, who framed his plans and state of mind after the last turbulent week.
"When he è went to Saudi Arabia he believed in it, so by necessity now he è sorry,” Andrea Mancini told 'Radio Serie A' -He was convinced that he could do a good job, and I think that beyond the results something good came. His experience è however, is enormous, so he is already ready for a project that he can feel is his own. And lì certainly will doà well".
Andrea Mancini then dismissed the question about his father's possible restart from a club or national team: "Now è it is premature to talk about it. His career shows that he is è open to everything, as he has worked in Saudi Arabia, but also at Zenit or Galatasaray, as well as in England. He must però find a project that he can believe in and that will make him feel fulfilled".
"Here patience is needed, especially now that local players are no longer starters at clubs. The managers are also very good but there is still not much experience for high-level soccer. It would have been really hard to qualify, I did not even have 50 percent of the starters in the league", Roberto Mancini had told 'Il Messaggero', giving his explanation to the problems he faced as ct of Saudi Arabia.
