Zaccagni chastises Monza, Lazio wins in Brianza
Monza-Lazio 0-1
Absolute protagonist of a pleasing first half è Mattia Zaccagni, who first hit a post and then left no chance for the Biancorosso goalkeeper Turati with a looping conclusion. Lazio, which runs some risks only in the beginning (high a conclusion of Maldini from a good position) then goes to the rest in advantage.
In the resumption, Monza, more with heart, looks for the equalizer, while Lazio controls but punishes little on the throw-in while Colombo from Como draws repeated yellows toward the hosts (5-1 the final tally). The biggest opportunities come from Maldini, on one side, and Castellanos, on the other, but in both cases the conclusions end high. Again Castellanos, five minutes from 90’, has the ball of 2-0, but Turati saves by instinct although the former Girona could have done better.
In the final minutes in Monza, Petagna also reappears: the last chance for the biancorossi è a free kick from an inviting position (Colombo notices the foul late) but Caprari shoots over the barrier. It ends like that.
Before the starting whistle, both fans remembered with a series of choruses Gabriele Sandri, the biancoceleste supporter whose tragic death marks the 17th anniversary on Monday.
