Now è official: Liam Lawson will be Red Bull’s new driver for 2025. After the divorce with Sergio Perez, the Austrian stable has announced through a statement that the 22-year-old driver from New Zealand will be the teammate of Max Verstappen for the 2025 Formula 1 championship.
"Being announced as a Red Bull driver è a dream come true for me,” Lawson admitted, “something I have wanted and worked for since I was eight years old. So far è it has been an incredible journey. I want to say a huge thank you to the entire VCARB team for their support-the last six races have played a key role in my preparation for this next step".
" I also want to thank Christian, Helmut and the whole Red Bull family for believing in me and giving me this opportunityà. I am super excited to work alongside Max and learn from a world champion, I have no doubt that I will learn from his experience. I can’t wait to get started!".
