The adventure in CEV Champions League of Numia Vero Volley Milano starts again in the best way. On Portuguese soil, the girls of coach Lavarini imposed themselves with a net 3-0 (13-25, 24-26, 16-25)on the home team of’FC Porto, thus replicating the result of’the first match and winning the mathematical passage to the round.
In the second day of the return match of Pool C, the Consortium’s women’s first team offered a brilliant performance, dominating the first set thanks to the excellent start of Cazaute and Konstantinidou, supported by Daalderop and Egonu, who dragged the meneghine to the final 13-25.
In the second fraction, after an aggressive start of the hosts, Milan was able to react with determination: Cazaute è’s service turn was decisive to recover the disadvantage, cancel two set points and turn the situation around, until winning the set. The third partial è was one-sided: an ace by captain Orro started an uncontested domination, with Smrek in great evidence, until 16-25 that sanctioned the victory of coach Lavarini’s girls.
MVP of the match è was the transalpine Helena Cazaute, author of 13 points and top scorer of the match, followed by Egonu, also in double figures with 12 points.
