Genoa knocks out Parma and wins back Marassi, second win for Vieira
Second win in the last three games for Patrick Vieira’s Genoa. The Rossoblù beat Fabio Pecchia’s Parma 1-0 at Marassi thanks to a goal scored by Frendrup during the second half of the match valid for the 20th day of the championship. Thanks to this success, the Grifone (in its first home win in over 230 days) climbs to 11th place on 23 points, temporarily joining Roma, while the Crociati remain stuck in 17th place on 19 points. Only bench for Mario Balotelli.
Very blocked first half at the Ferraris: the match rhythm è broken up and chances are few. The Grifone starts better, Suzuki has to make an excellent intervention on Vasquez at 23'. After two missed chances by Bonny and Pinamonti, the Rossoblù before halftime they lose Badelj to injury, in comes Kasa.
In the resumption, the Emilians seem more willing but the chances are all on the Rossoblù: at 57' Kasa has a great chance but sends it over the crossbar. The balance is broken at 65': Miretti fishes in the area Frendrup, whose shot deflected by Delprato mocks Suzuki.
The guests try to react but Vieira’s formation è well compact behind and offers no space. Indeed, it was the hosts who came close to doubling the score with Kasa, just before the triple whistle.
