Australian Open: Jannik Sinner-Ben Shelton 7-6

The Australian Open semifinals are off to a good start for Jannik Sinner. The South Tyrolean, in fact, after going down in the score twice and nullifying two set points, dominated the first-set tie-break against Ben Shelton.

The match began in the worst way for the world number one, who lost his serve in the opening game. After struggling to confirm the lead, Shelton suffered a comeback by Sinner, who restored parity in the fourth game.

The South Tyrolean continued to struggle with his first serve and in the 11th game the American took advantage to attack once again on his rival&#39s second and again snatched the serve from the Italian thanks to a precise drop to the net.

With his back against the wall, Sinner didn&#39t tremble and after canceling two set-points managed to place the immediate counter-break and take the match to the tie-break, where he dominated Shelton with a peremptory 7-2, giving him the first set after a long battle of almost 75 minutes.
